Cheap vs Professional Logo Design in the UAE
Price is a poor guide to logo quality. There are AED 3,000 logos that cannot be used on a sign, and AED 99 logos that come with everything you need. What actually separates them is not what you pay — it is what you receive and whether it is exclusive to you.
This guide breaks down each option honestly, including where the cheap ones genuinely fail.
The options, compared
| Option | Typical cost | Exclusive? | Source files? | Main risk |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AI logo generator | Free – AED 200 | No | Sometimes | Template-based, others get the same mark |
| Canva / DIY | Free – AED 100 | No | Limited | Elements are licensed, not owned |
| Marketplace gigs | AED 50 – 500 | Varies | Often extra | Stock resale, upsells, no revisions |
| Budget design service | AED 99 – 500 | Usually | Ask | Varies by provider — check deliverables |
| Freelance designer | AED 500 – 3,000 | Yes | Usually | Availability, single point of failure |
| Agency | AED 2,500 – 12,000 | Yes | Yes | You may pay for process you don’t need |
| Branding studio | AED 12,000+ | Yes | Yes | Overkill for most small businesses |
Where cheap logo design actually goes wrong
Not “it looks bad” — that is subjective and often untrue. These are the concrete failures.
You receive no vector file. The most common and most costly problem. Without .AI, .EPS or .SVG you cannot produce signage, and you will pay someone to redraw your logo later.
The design is not exclusive. AI generators and template libraries assemble logos from shared components. Another business can end up with something nearly identical. You also cannot trademark it.
Revisions stop abruptly. “Three revisions included” sounds fine until you have used them and the logo still is not right. Then each change is billed.
The font is unknown. Without knowing the typeface, no future material will match — signage, packaging, website all drift apart.
There is no Arabic version. For a UAE business planning a shopfront this is a real problem, and retrofitting Arabic onto a finished English logo rarely works well.
The designer disappears. No follow-up, no additional formats, no source files six months later.
You paid in advance and got very little. Once money has moved before you have seen work, your leverage is gone.
Every one of these is a deliverables problem, not a price problem. A provider charging very little who hands over source files, exclusivity and unlimited revisions has none of them.
Where expensive logo design goes wrong
Worth saying too, because “expensive equals safe” is not true either.
You pay for process you do not need. Brand workshops, competitor audits and positioning documents make sense for a company with a marketing team. For a new trading company that needs a mark for its licence and sign, it is cost without benefit.
Timelines stretch. A full branding process can run two to four weeks or longer. If your licence is landing in a week, that does not work.
More money does not guarantee more concepts. Premium studios often present one or two directions, because the narrowing happened during strategy work you paid for separately.
You can still be handed the wrong files. Being expensive does not automatically mean you receive source files and ownership. Ask regardless.

What actually predicts a good outcome
Four things, none of which is price:
1 · Deliverables. Vector source file, all formats, colour and mono versions, font details, full ownership.
2 · Exclusivity. Drawn for you, from your brief, not assembled from a template library.
3 · Revisions. Enough that you are not forced to accept something you dislike.
4 · Evidence. Real previous work you can look at. Not “500+ happy clients” — actual logos.
If a provider is strong on all four, the price is a separate question. If they are weak on any of them, price is irrelevant.
So is a cheap logo worth it?
It depends entirely on what “cheap” means in context.
Cheap because corners were cut — no source files, template base, no revisions, no ownership — is not a bargain. It is a cost you have deferred, and you will pay it at the signage stage.
Cheap because the cost base is lower — a team with lower overheads than a Dubai studio, or a business that prices its entry service deliberately low — can be genuinely good value, provided the deliverables are complete.
The two look identical from the outside. The deliverables list is what tells them apart.
Being straight about our own pricing
QuickFicks charges AED 99 for a logo when most UAE providers charge AED 800 and upwards. It is fair to ask how.
Logo design is where most of our client relationships start. A new business gets a proper logo without a painful bill at the moment money is tightest, and many of those businesses come back later for a website, branding or automation work. It is a deliberate entry price, not a discount that expires.
What that includes:
- 5+ original concepts, drawn by a human designer from your brief — no generators, no template libraries
- Unlimited revisions on the direction you choose
- AI editable source file, plus PNG, JPG and PDF
- Colour and black-and-white versions
- The font names used
- Arabic and English versions designed together, if you need both
- One free visiting card or letterhead
- No advance payment — you approve first, then pay
- Concepts in 48 to 72 hours
And what it is not: a full brand-identity package. There are no brand guidelines, no positioning workshops, no strategy documents at this price. If you need those, you need an agency, and you should budget accordingly. We would rather say that than sell you something under a label it does not deserve.
Frequently asked questions
Is cheap logo design worth it?
It can be, if the deliverables are complete — source files, exclusivity, ownership, revisions. Cheap logos fail when those are missing, not because of the price itself.
Are AI logo generators good enough?
For a temporary placeholder, sometimes. For a registered business they are risky: designs are template-based, rarely exclusive, and generally cannot be trademarked.
Is Fiverr good for logo design?
Quality varies enormously. Check whether source files and commercial rights are included in the base price or sold as upsells, and whether the work is original.
What is the difference between a AED 99 logo and a AED 3,000 logo?
Usually process and scope, not necessarily the mark itself. Higher prices typically buy strategy, brand guidelines and a full identity system. Check what files and rights each includes.
How do I know if a logo is exclusive?
Ask directly whether it is drawn from scratch for you, and whether you can register it as a trademark. Template-based designs generally cannot be registered.
Do I need a full branding package?
Most new small businesses do not, at first. A strong logo with proper source files covers signage, cards, bank onboarding and social. Brand systems make sense as you grow.
Judge the deliverables
Whoever you choose, ask what files you receive and whether you own the design. See our guide to logo ownership, or view what a complete AED 99 package includes.
